The Preservation of a Barn and its History
This year, 2026, marks the 200th anniversary of the Harvey Barn at Muster Field Farm Museum. With the oversight of easement holders, Historic New England, the Farm Managers and Directors at Muster Field steward this gorgeous and productive agricultural hub. Countless regional farmers load hay from its lofts, dairy cows provided milk for delivery and hundreds of chickens laid and wintered here. Today, the Harvey Barn houses produce and provides the organizational center for daily farm activity. By replacing the roof in the near term, the Farm takes a critical step to ensure the Harvey Barn continues to operate well into the centuries ahead. Read the full press release here.
